街のはずれにある古い図書館。そこは「忘れ物の図書館」と呼ばれている。貸し出されるのは本じゃなくて、誰かが忘れていった「思い出」なんだ。
ある日、ボクはそこで一冊の日記を見つけた。持ち主は、もう何十年も前にここを訪れたきりの女の子。ページをめくると、彼女が夢見た未来の街や、空飛ぶ乗り物のスケッチが、色鮮やかに描かれていた。
最後のページには、こう書かれていた。「いつか、この夢が誰かの未来になりますように」って。
ボクはその日記を借りることにした。この素敵な夢を、ボクがちゃんと未来に連れて行ってあげなくちゃって思ったから。
